Starting from the knowledge that good forage is the cornerstone of effective nutrition, a programme to protect and enhance forage became top priority.
Thousands of forage analyses and the related performance of the forage in livestock diets showed consistent discrepancies between nutrient content and animal performance. A specific quantity of nutrient did not always mean it was available to the animal.
Finding a way to make more of the nutritional value of the forage available to the animal was the key.
